Your donation helps protect 5,000 years of Scottish history
The story of Scotland’s history is told through the buildings, archaeology, landscapes and collections that we take care of. It is documented in the drawings, prints, books, papers, photographs, plans and written testimony in our Archive through our free-to-access services such as SCRAN and Canmore.
It is the 6 million plus items in the Archive that help us to understand and appreciate our history. Read more about the project here.
Over the next three years we are preparing the physical archive for a move to a world-class facility and will be working through our strong rooms to document every shelf, drawer and box. This will provide us with a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an up to date and comprehensive understanding of the entire Archive.
We’re very grateful that you’re considering making a donation to us, either by donating now, discussing a gift in your will, making a special donation, or working in partnership with us.
Your support will help us to do more to conserve and widen access to our archives and provide more opportunities for everyone to learn about Scotland’s rich history.
As a donor you will help us on this exciting journey of discovery. Thank you.
